Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you plan on translating “x” thing?
Our priorities are game patches, and secondly, audio dramas. We don’t have plans to do anything else currently. You can check our project status on our In Progress page.
In terms of games, we prioritize unpatched, unlocalized SEGA-era projects and do not have any plans to translate Madou Monogatari games.
- How often do you update? When is “x” coming out?
There is no update schedule and we do not set estimated dates for releases. The reason being that this depends heavily on the free time of our team members, and we are doing this entirely as volunteers.
For an insight into our process, here’s how many things we have to do:
- Main translators on the team (Ingu & Neni) have to check over each other’s work and also the work of all apprentice translators.
- All translations go through quality checks involving a minimum of 5 proofreaders.
- Polling possible revisions — we’ve hit more than 100 polls for a script before.
- Implementing revisions
- Sending Luna to read it again to catch typos
- Inputting the text into the game
- Playtesting and implementing any other changes
…and that’s not even getting into the image editing, video editing, or programming parts of what we do, all of which can create their own stalls.
In summary, you’ll see it when you see it! At the very least, rest assured that we won’t disappear without notice. If we’re not updating, assume we are working on something. We are working on something, and have been consistently nearly every single week for 5+ years.
- Is there a patch for “x”? Where can I download it?
You can find all of our patches on our projects page.
Check our resources page for a comprehensive list of translated Madou Monogatari and Puyo Puyo titles translated by anyone who isn’t us.
- Do you take requests?
We have our hands full and cannot take requests. If you want something Puyo-related translated really bad, ask yourself if you’re willing to pay $200+ for it before contacting us.
- I want to link or share something with Precise Museum.
Please use our contact form or email us at precisemuseum@gmail.com. You can also reach out to one of our members personally.
- Can we repost or use your scans?
Feel free to repost or use our scans. Crediting us as Precise Museum is appreciated.
- Is “x” supported by canon or exist in the continuity of the games?
We do not consider ourselves authority on the games’ lore — we’re just here to translate.
- What’s the “Support Us” button for?
No one here gets paid for our work. Our leader Ingu does the most work in the group besides simply translating, such as:
- Managing the group & tracking project progress
- Checking in with other members and reminding them to contribute
- Handling new membership applications
- Reviewing proofreading line revisions
- Image-editing and typesetting
- Assisting with patching and beta-testing
- Working on this website and sometimes our social media
- etc.
So the support button links to our leader’s Ko-fi, a website where you can donate 3 or more dollars to the person in question. You may also donate to our other members Ko-fi’s by clicking the coffee icon next to their name in the Team Page.
- Can I join Precise Museum?
We’re only looking for experienced translators and programmers right now.
If you are either one of those things, please apply here!
We will contact you with further details once we have received your application. Thank you for considering helping us out!
If your question is not answered here, you can contact Ingu through Discord @66ccff or Eudae through Discord @evenstrangerklug.
